Apartment Living

An Ode to Netflix

admin - Tuesday, November 10, 2015

A wise woman once said, “Some people come into your life for a lifetime, others come for your Netflix password. Be able to identify the difference.”

It’s 2015, and just about everybody has access to Netflix. Whether you splurged for your own account, or use your family’s, your best friend’s, boyfriend’s, or ex’s password, you have 24/7 access to unlimited movie and TV streaming, thanks to Netflix.

Since its naissance, Netflix has reinvented the way we watch TV. There are no commercials, it plays episode after episode without touching a remote, and it’s completely eliminated the need to leave your apartment. Netflix has even introduced new lingo like: streaming, binging, and Netflix & Chill. With Netflix’s unlimited shows and movies at your fingertips, there’s always something to watch – and if your biggest issue is indecisiveness, then Netflix Roulette is your solution http://netflixroulette.net/.

Each month, Netflix releases new movies and shows, but unfortunately takes some away. October brought us classics like American Pie, but stole The Wolf of Wall Street. Now in November, Netflix will be introducing a whole new batch: http://www.denofgeek.us/movies/netflix/247213/netflix-new-releases-for-november-2015.

If that complete list is overwhelming, here’s a breakdown of one to check out for each genre:

Documentary: Best of Enemies (2015)

11/28/15: This political documentary premiering November 28, may have missed Election Day, but nonetheless provides a historic take on politics and the media.

Romance: Anna Karenina (2012)

11/12/15: Leo Tolstoy’s iconic novel comes to life with the help of Keira Knightley.

Must-See Sitcom: Master of None (Season 1)

11/6/15: Aziz Ansari, comedian and author of recently released novel Modern Romance, stars in this 10-episode series.

Netflix Original: Marvel’s Jessica Jones (Season 1)

11/20/15: Joining the likes of Netflix Originals like Orange is the New Black and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Jessica Jones is set to be another megahit.

On Netflix’s Horizon: A new Gilmore Girls series

The rumors have been confirmed. A four-part revival series of Gilmore Girls is set to reach Netflix in the near future.
