Pittsburgh Pride. It’s Black, It’s Gold, It’s Real
It’s no secret that the city of Pittsburgh houses some of the most die-hard sports fans in the country. Whether they’re cheering for the Steelers, Pirates, or Penguins, Pittsburghers are often representing some sort of black and gold, even in off-seasons. According to Time Inc.’s Fansided list, which ranks fandoms based on longevity, size, worth, and quality of the fandom (which they call the “passion barometer”), the Pittsburgh Steelers, proud 6-time Superbowl champions, ranked no. 23, while the Penguins ranked No. 1 in the NHL and No. 18 among professional sport franchises worldwide. The team was 70th overall in the world fandom rankings, meaning that they beat figures like Jimmy Fallon, Steph Curry, HBO, Starbucks, and the LA Dodgers.
Based in Pittsburgh, PA, at the PPG Paints Arena, the Penguins invite a lot of activity to their games. Just last year during the Stanley Cup Finals, the city and team worked together to put a large television outside one of the arena gates, and added a second screen at a downtown shopping square about a mile away to accommodate the crowd–thousands of fans from the surrounding area flocked downtown to watch the game and support their team, whether it was from the inside or outside of the arena. Faros Properties’ City View Apartments make the perfect location for Penguins fans, as the complex is located directly next to PPG Paints Arena, and therefore is right in the middle of all the black and gold fever. Not only does this make it easy to keep up with the Penguins, but it also enables residents to readily access bars and restaurants after games, with perks included at specific locations.
Faros Properties offers more opportunities for Pittsburgh sports fans with the beautiful Park View Apartments, which are less than a mile away from PNC Park, the home of the Pittsburgh Pirates. Residents also receive perks here—if you love showing your Pittsburgh pride, (as most of us do!) you’re in luck because Park View residents get a 15% discount off all purchases at The Pittsburgh Fan, a store located right across from PNC Park, among other great offers. What’s more, this location is also close to Heinz Field, home to the Pittsburgh Steelers. There’s no better place for Pittsburgh sports fans than City View and Park View Apartments—all the major teams’ arenas are within walking distance from both, making them the ultimate haven for those who bleed black and gold.
With Finals Game 2 approaching, we at Faros Properties wish the best of luck to the Penguins.
