Winter Activities for All
Pittsburgh Hanukkah Celebrations
Even though Hanukkah is winding down, there are still events in Pittsburgh catered to this Jewish holiday. Chabad of Pittsburgh kicked off Hanukkah with its grand menorah lighting in Oakland last Sunday. This event featured the Yeshiva Boys Choir, a juggling show, live music, doughnuts, chocolate Hanukkah Gelt, and a 12’ Menorah. Now, this Friday starting at 5:15 p.m., Chabad hosts its Community Shabbat Dinner. Throughout the year, this organization strives to create a positive Jewish experience.
Ever wonder what other cultures think of Santa Claus? What do they call him, or her? The PPG Place has all those answers and more at its “Spirit of Giving” Exhibit. Read all about how different cultures celebrate Christmas. And after the exhibit, visit the Holiday Market in Market Square!
Ice skating gets cold, seeing movies together gets old… Looking to branch out on your dates? Luckily winter offers couples new, fun, and hands-on activities. From brewing your own beer, to blowing your own glass ornaments, Pittsburgh is the place for couples.
NextPittsburgh and the Odyssey offer additional activity ideas, so grab a friend, family member, significant other, etc. and make Pittsburgh your home for the holidays.
